Biography

Dr Brona Fullen is a lecturer in the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Population Science. She holds a BSc Physiotherapy (UUJ), H.Dip Healthcare (Acupuncture), UCD, and PhD (UCD) degrees. She is an expert in the clinical area of pain management. Her main research interests include the rehabilitation of patients with chronic pain, with emphasis on physical and cognitive function, and sleep disturbance. She has obtained research funding from the Health Research Board, Health Service Executive, and the pharmaceutical industry. She has presented her research at national and international conferences. Brona is currently the President of the Irish Pain Society, the first Chartered Physiotherapist to hold this post.

Research Interests

My main area of established research is in the area of chronic pain management, with particular emphasis on physical and cognitive rehabilitation, and sleep.
