UCD offers a world-class environment for research, one in which researchers and industry partners, have access to the latest tools and techniques and work together in multidisciplinary teams to acheive common research goals.
The UCD Conway Institute for Biomolecular and Biomedical Reserach has, in recent years, invested in a range of core technologies and platforms in the areas of Genomics and Transcriptomics, Proteomics and Microscopy. UCD Science Centre Development
The UCD Science Centre is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. When completed, the new state-of-the-art laboratory and teaching facilities will enable the strategic integration of science with related disciplines including agri-food, biomedicine, engineering, and information and communications technology (ICT).
UCD drives commercialisation and partnerships with industry through its Innovation & Technology Transfer Centre, NovaUCD. The Centre is located in the Belfield Innovation Park, a 30-acre facility in the southwest corner of the campus that currently houses 26 companies, several created by the academic staff at UCD.
UCD Research IT Support provides a range of services designed to support and facilitate researchers in their use of IT as an enabler for research activities. Services include dedicated clusters for researchers, collaborative facilities, research network services, training and consultancy. UCD's Research IT Data Centre is home to the Stokes supercomputer hosted by the Irish Centre for High-End Computing (ICHEC), enabling world class data intensive research to take place with speed and efficiency.
