One of UCD’s strategic aims is to encourage interdisciplinary research and cross-campus programmes that will see UCD compete for major funding opportunities. The UCD Research Strategic & Major Initiatives Scheme continues to encourage large scale strategic proposals that are likely to attract external funding in excess of €10 million.
The scheme is designed to support a number of feasibility studies (with funding of up to €50,000) that can be developed into major funding proposals. To qualify, researchers need to provide an overview of their proposal. The funding is for interdisciplinary programmes including collaborations with external institutions.
