End of Study Reports

This report is only applicable to research involving human subjects.

All researchers who have received approval from either of the UCD Human Research Ethics Committees are obliged, at the end of their study, to complete an HR6-End of Study Report Form and submit it to the Office of Research Ethics.

Ethical approval is granted on condition that the researcher ensures that, in compliance with the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003, all data (if applicable) will be destroyed, or archived, in accordance with the researchers application. Researchers will confirm this in their End of Study Report, or indicate when this will occur and how this will be communicated to the Human Research Ethics Committee.

Documents You Should Retain

There are a number of documents associated with your ethical review which you are strongly advised to retain as you may need to present them for i.e. publishing purposes etc. They are as follows:

  • Approved final version of the Application Form
  • Copies of all supporting documents
  • Copy of your insurance as received from UCD Safety Office or a teaching hospital
  • Copy of the Decision Letter(s)
  • Copy of the Approval Letter from the UCD Research Ethics Committee (AREC, HS or LS)
  • Copies of any other letters of approval or permission relevant to your research project
