Student Cards at Check InProcedures For Residents Uploading Their Photo for Their New Student Card and Collecting it on Check In
All Residents will need a new students card on arrival, even if they are an existing student and already have a card. Student cards are being pre-printed and encoded prior to arrivals so it is essential that all new students upload their photograph prior to arrival and not at the last minute in order to avoid lengthy delays. Please see below details for uploading photographs and collection points and processes.
Collection of Your new Student Card
All residents, including continuing students with a card from last year, will get a new student card on arrival as part of the residences check in / arrivals process. Your new student card will be used not just as ID, but also as your residence access card and smartcard purse for use in the main restaurant, laundry, and other outlets.
Belfield Campus Residents: The card will be issued at Merville Residences as part of central Belfield arrivals
Blackrock Campus Residents: The card will be issued at Proby Residences as part of central Blackrock arrivals
Muckross Campus Residents: The card will be issued at Muckross Hall Residences as part of central Blackrock arrivals
All Residents must have official photographic Identification (passport / driving license) to collect their card and check in to residences.
New Students – Uploading Your Photo
For new students who have not had a student card before there is a new photo upload facility available for you. All new students must use this to ensure that they are fast tracked on arrival as cards will be printed prior to your arrival date. Residents who do this now will not have to complete it again as part of registration. Existing / Continuing UCD Students
If you have had a UCD student card previously you do not need to upload a new photo and your new card will be ready on arrival. If however you wish to update your photo you can follow the link as above before the 12th August.
