Check in Procedures
We look forward to welcoming you to your new UCD Home in September. UCD offers you not only a high quality housing package, but a warm and friendly environment to live in whilst studying.
During August we will be sending you further information on what you will need for arrivals, however we would like to take this initial opportunity to detail a few key steps you will need to follow before arrival so please read it thoroughly.
Arrivals are being managed centrally this year which will provide you with a one stop shop where all your check in needs can be met.
Belfield Campus: (Merville, Glenomena, Belgrove, Roebuck Hall and Roebuck Castle)
All residents living on the Belfield Campus must first go to Merville Residence for central check in before proceeding to their complex
Blackrock Campus: (Proby Hall, Novitiate, Blackrock Halls)
All residents living on the Blackrock Campus must first go to Proby Hall Residence for central check in before proceeding to their complex
Muckross Campus: (Muckross Halls)
All residents living on the Muckross Campus must go directly to Muckross Halls Residence in Donnybrook for central check
Regardless of which campus you are living in there are three main things you will need on arrival, some of which you can do in advance:
(1) Your new student card. All students, including continuing students with a card from last year, will get a new student card on arrival. Your new student card will be used not just as ID, but also as your residence access card and smartcard purse for use in the main restaurant, laundry, and other outlets. The card will be issued at Merville Residences.
For new students who have not had a student card before there is a new photo upload facility available for you. All new students must use this to ensure that they are fast tracked on arrival as cards will be printed prior to your arrival date. Residents who do this now will not have to complete it again as part of registration. To upload your photo and beat the queues, follow this link https://sisweb.ucd.ie/usis/twbkwbis.P_GenMenu?name=bmenu.P_AccStuMnu to bring you to the Student Accommodation Menu in SISWeb and follow the instructions there.
If you have had a UCD student card previously you do not need to upload a new photo and your new card will be ready on arrival. If however you wish to update your photo you can follow the link as above before the 12th August.
(2) Your License to Reside. On check in you must have a printed copy of your license to Reside. The license must be completed and signed by yourself and your guarantor so it is something you need to do before you arrive. Both of your signatures must be witnessed which is not something we can do for you.
(3) Proof of Payment. Your first instalment is 55% and must be paid prior to arrival and latest by the 3rd September 2012. It is essential that you have paid your first instalment before you check in. Where you have paid online through sisweb using a credit or laser card we should have a record of it on arrival. Sometimes there are delays in the system being updated so it is advised to print off a copy of your UCD Residence account which will detail your payment and bring it with you. If you have paid by an alternative means please bring the proof of payment in case of system update delays.
The official arrival date is the 3rd September 2012.

If you arrive late and the office is unattended please call the on call number which will be listed on the door of the residence office.
