VDU Regulations
The Safety Office offers eye and eyesight tests for UCD staff that use a Visual Display Unit (VDU) for more than one hour continuously during their normal working day.
There three options available to UCD staff members who wish to avail of this service.
1. You may attend your own optician and forward the receipt along with a signed T4 form (http://www.ucd.ie/bursar/forms) to the Safety Office. You will be reimbursed for the cost of the eye tests at the current rate. The current rate of reimbursement may be obtained by contacting safety@ucd.ie. Please note that this will not cover the full cost of spectacles so if using this option please ensure that you are familiar with current reimbursement rates.
2. A referral slip may be obtained for an opticians which is located in Blackrock Village from the Safety Office which allows holders to receive an eye and eyesight test at this location.
3. Vouchers for a chain of high street opticians which cover the cost of an eye and eyesight test can be obtained from the Safety Office.
