Green Innovator receives the NovaUCD 2016 Innovation AwardGreen Innovator receives the NovaUCD 2016 Innovation Award (05/09/2016)

The NovaUCD 2016 Innovation Award was presented to Professor Kevin O’Connor, by UCD President, Professor Andrew J. Deeks, during an event held at NovaUCD, the Centre for New Ventures and Entrepreneurs. Professor O’Connor is a leading green technologies researcher and innovator whose interests include research into the development of biodegradable polymers, methods of improving the recycling of plastic and other materials i.e. upcycling, and the transformation of waste products and industrial side streams into value added products. Awareness for DiabetesAwareness for Diabetes (15/04/2016)

Sean Kirwan, a recent graduate of MSc in Biotechnology and also BSc in Pharmacology in UCD, is carrying out a Knowledge Exchange Dissemination Scheme (KEDS) funded by the Health Research Board (HRB) in collaboration with UCD and ICON plc. Sean is currently working with Firecrest (a division of ICON plc based in Limerick), creating 3D animated videos based on diabetes. Take a look at one of Sean’s videos here. These videos are designed to target a wide range of audiences including patients, students and laypeople interested in learning about diabetes and their related complications.

Congratulations to PhD student Martin Parsons, winner of this year's ENGAGE Competion. The School of Biomedical and Biomolecular Science (SBBS) opened its doors to the wider UCD community and the general public for the Engage Seminars Competition on Wednesday 6th April.
