About Us
Systems Biology Ireland (SBI) is a Science Foundation Ireland CSET (Centre for Science, Engineering and Technology) established in 2009. CSETs are centres of excellence designed to help link scientists and engineers in partnerships across academia and industry to address crucial research questions. SBI is an initiative between University College Dublin (UCD) and the National University of Ireland Galway (NUI,Galway) primarily based on the Belfield campus of UCD.
It is our intention that our research will positively impact on the Irish scientific culture and foster the development of new and existing Irish-based technology companies. We aim to attract industry that could make an important contribution to Ireland and its economy, and expand educational and career opportunities in Ireland in science and engineering.
