Who is Systems Biology Ireland?

Systems Biology Ireland (SBI) is a Science Foundation Ireland funded Centre for Science and Engineering Technology (CSET). At SBI, we carry out cutting-edge research focussed on unravelling the complexity of biological systems and improving the biomedical application of stem cells.

Expertise
SBI researchers have unique expertise in signal transduction, dynamic modelling and network analysis

Technology Capabilities
Research supported through full integration of contemporary ‘omics’ techniques, advanced imaging, bioinformatics, mathematical and computational modelling

Clinical Application
Working on mammalian cell systems, SBI has a strong focus on human diseases and therapeutic strategies

Industry Focus
SBI has extensive experience working with industrial partners and all aspects of industrial collaborations including project management, drafting of agreements, IP handling and project delivery

Access to Funding

SBI has proven ability in successfully securing funding at both national and international level including EU FP7 health programmes, infrastructural projects, coordination & support action schemes, Marie Curie/DFG/INRA/EMBO fellowships, Walton programmes, SIRG awards and IRCSET scholarships
