Science is fun and rewarding, whether you’re a young child dropping your first mento into some cola to make a geyser or you’re a well seasoned researcher who finally got the result that you needed. SBI’s education and outreach programs aim to create a sense of value and appreciation for its projects and science as a whole.
The main objective of the Education and Outreach (E&O) program is to promote science in general alongside with our research and make these as relevant as possible to a wide and varied audience. This is irrespective of whether they are in the public, commercial or academic sectors. We aim to raise the profile of SBI whilst instilling a general appreciation of science and its collective benefit. Crucial to this endeavour is ensuring that staff already involved with SBI are aware of all current work and collaborations underway. SBI aims to keep all interested parties informed, no matter what demographic they come from.
There are several E&O projects underway with several more in the design phase. SBI has several different demographical areas that we are aiming to reach with our E&O programme. Within each of these areas we have targeted projects and mechanisms which will enable us to reach the maximum number of people possible.
