Professor of Bioinformatics at the UCD Conway Institute since 2003. Following completion of his PhD at Trinity College Dublin, he worked as a staff scientist and group leader at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Heidelberg, Germany.
Dr Christina Kiel joined SBI from the Centre for Genomic Regulation, Spain, in 2017. Her major research area is the quantitative, systems and structural analysis of signalling pathways and protein interaction networks relevant in human diseases.
Professor Owen Smith's active research areas of interest include: childhood and adolescent leukaemias & lymphomas, bone marrow failure syndromes, angiogenesis and haematological malignancies, the molecular and cellular basis of the inflammatory – coagulation interface in human disease.
Professor Bond joined SBI in 2018. He will lead a new long-term collaborative paediatric leukaemia research program between SBI and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, supported by the National Children’s Research Centre
