One of the first graduates of this programme was Ronan Liddy, FIA (a 1994 graduate from Co. Clare). Ronan is a qualified actuary and senior consultant who works for Watson Wyatt, a global actuarial consulting firm with more than 6,000 associates in 30 countries worldwide.

His job involves the provision of actuarial and general consulting advice to a wide range of predominantly large, multinational clients, many of which are advised by Watson Wyatt on a global basis. He provides advice in relation to all aspects of employee benefit programmes, including pension plan design, implementation, financial management and investment, communication and administration.

Ronan says: “Most of these areas of work directly use the knowledge built up during my years at UCD ranging from specific actuarial issues to the more general business applications of economic, accounting and financial concepts.”
