Many of our UCD Science graduates continue their studies to master’s or PhD doctoral degree level at UCD and at other institutions worldwide. Leading UCD Institutes and Research Centres include the Centre for Synthesis and Chemical Biology, the UCD Conway Institute of Biomedical and Biomolecular Research and UCD CASL (Complex & Adaptive Systems Laboratory).

After completing their postgraduate degrees, many Science graduates will continue to work in research in companies or at universities located in Ireland and all over the world.

    "We actually know the genetic cause of many hereditary diseases. To cure many of them all that is needed is to insert a working copy of the gene behind the disease into the affected cells. However, in most cases we still need to develop a robust system of delivering the gene therapy. After my four years at UCD, I feel that I am well equipped to contribute to such a field.” Read more..
