Science graduates wishing to train to be a secondary school science teacher or maths teacher in Ireland must hold a postgraduate qualification such as the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) (This was formerly known as the HDip). In the UK, graduates study a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Both postgraduate courses will focus on developing your teaching skills and will include time spent teaching in a classroom. |
