When you have identified a potential PhD student and funding has been secured, please contact your School office who will request information regarding the student, the programme and funding which will be reviewed by the School Graduate Committee/Graduate Co-Coordinator and if approved, this will entered into the Research Management system for approval at Graduate School level. Please note that student MUST be approved by the Graduate School before they commence the programme so approval at School and Graduate School level MUST take place before the start date – there are three start dates September, January and May. The information requested by the Graduate School is:

  • Student personal details (name, DoB etc)
  • Programme details
  • Degree Held
  • English Language Requirement
  • Start Date
  • Primary Thesis Supervisor
  • Co-Supervisor
  • Subject Area
  • Funding Details
  • Thesis Title
  • Doctoral Panel Members
  • On/Off-Site
