A range of on-campus housing options and cutting-edge sports and campus facilities are available to UCD Science Study Abroad students.

Accommodation

UCD Science Study Abroad students are eligible for on-campus accommodation. Students generally share a three/four bedroom apartment with two or three other students, with kitchen and bathroom facilities.

UCD Student Centre

The Student Centre is the hub of UCD Student Life. It is home to a range of clubs and societies and facilities include a state of the art cinema, theatre, a pool room, student bar, debating chamber and a wide range of shops and other services.

Sports Facilities

UCD has the best on-campus sports facilities available in any Irish university. Facilities in the indoor UCD Sport & Fitness facility include a 50 metre Olympic size swimming pool, a gym with personal TV on all fitness equipment and over 100 fitness classes per week and a tepidarium with jacuzzis, a steam room and saunas. In addition there are first class pitches, 5 flood-lit tennis courts, squash courts and sports halls. The National Hockey Stadium is located on campus. The choice of available sport is extensive with over 55 clubs offering a full range of activities at all levels of proficiency.

Student Health

The Student Health Centre is available to all registered UCD students. Services available include general practice doctors, nurses, psychiatric care and psychologists. For further information, please see the Student Health Service website.

Student Welfare and Support

The UCD College of Science has a team of dedicated academic and administrative staff including Assoc. Prof. Marcus Baumann, VP for Learning Abroad, and Mr Jamie Wells, Senior Programme Manager. Student Advisers who work along with academic and administrative support staff are happy to give support and assistance to students experiencing social, personal or emotional problems of any kind. We operate an ‘Open Door’ policy and you are welcome to drop by anytime. Additionally, UCD Global offers support to all our international students. 

All students with a disability in UCD have the opportunity to receive supports. To receive these supports students are invited to register with UCD Access & Lifelong Learning. International students should note that the supports available through their home institutions may be different to those available in UCD.
