Who is the Masters in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) for?
The MLIS programme is designed to prepare university graduates for careers as information or library professionals.

What will I learn?
The MLIS provides an opportunity for advanced graduate study and an introduction to research in Information and Library Science. The  programmes require a high level of commitment by students to the inter-disciplinary content, which spans theory and practice, drawing on knowledge gained in their primary degree. 

How will I benefit?
The SILS MLIS is a highly regarded internationally recognised qualification. It is accreditated by the Library Association Ireland which is also recognized by the American Library Association. Example of careers you can pursue with a MLIS degree include: Knowledge manager, Information architect, Content manager, Social media director, Records officer, Chief information officer, Information manager, Investigative reserach specialist, Information scientist, Digital librarian, Librarian, Cataloguer, Library director.
