Scholarship Resources for Incoming Students

The following links provide information about various scholarship funding available to incoming students.  It is a short selection of funding available, and by no means an exhaustive list.  Some of the scholarships have specific requirements, so please be sure to research each opportunity carefully to make sure it is right for you. 

Universities Ireland
Universities Ireland offer various scholarship opportunities for master's students, and now also have a PhD scholarship.

The Beit Trust

The Beit Trust offers annually a score of Postgraduate Scholarships abroad for studies or research to graduates who are domiciled in Malawi, Zambia or Zimbabwe (the beneficial area) Scholarships are taken up at a university in the United Kingdom, Ireland or South Africa, for study in a subject of the individual’s choice appropriate to the needs of the beneficial area. Duration is normally for a maximum of three years at the discretion of Trustees.

Irish Aid

The Fellowship Training Programme aims to strengthen the capacity of development partner organisations in countries benefiting from Irish Aid support through the provision of higher education study opportunities.  The programme offers a number of study fellowship awards annually to candidates from partner organizations in developing countries to further their education in Ireland or within their own region in areas relevant to Irish Aid programme objectives. The Fellowship Training Programme is closely aligned to our partner country priorities and will support capacity building within key organisations in those countries.

The Gilman Scholarship Program

The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.
