In collaboration with alumni, we are establishing a UCD SILS Alumni Association.
The objective of the SILS Alumni Association at UCD is to maintain connections between alumni and SILS thereby providing a platform to encourage life-long mentoring, networking and continued professional development. Your membership and participation helps to ensure the quality and longevity of the programmes offered at SILS.

The first SILS Alumni Association event was a gala reception on 25 May 2011
from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the National Library Ireland, Kildare St, Dublin 2. All alumni were invited to the gala reception.
Guest speakers included Deirdre Ellis-King and Thomas A. Finholt. Diedre Ellis-King held the post of Dublin City Librarian from 1985 to 2010. She served four terms as President of the LIbrary Association of Ireland (in 1992, 1993, 2007 and 2008), and also served on the Board of An Chomhairle Leabharlanna (The Library Council) for four consecutive terms from 1990 to 2010. She is an alumni of SILS. Thomas Finholt is the Associate Dean for the Faculty and Professor at the School of Information, University of Michigan. He is also the external examiner for SILS.
