Health and Safety

The University SIRC Office offers advisory services across many areas of Health and Safety management including:

•    Statutory compliance
•    Development of risk assessments
•    Development of safety protocols
•    Occupational health
•    Occupational hygiene
•    Emergency planning
•    Safety training
•    Safety auditing
•    Hazardous materials safety
•    Pregnant employee safety
•    Fire safety

Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act (No. 10 of 2005), all Schools / Units / Institutes, etc. in the University must have a Safety Statement and this must contain completed risk assessments for all activities of that area. The SIRC office has completed sample Safety Statements and a large number of Risk Assessments to assist all areas in remaining compliant with their statutory requirements.
