FRENCH AND FRANCOPHONE STUDIES
UNDERGRADUATE INFORMATION

Welcome to French and Francophone Studies at UCD.

In studying French with us, you will have the opportunity to develop your language and communication skills and to explore the diversity of French and francophone cultures. You will develop your ability to understand and express yourself in a language that is both European and global, spoken on four of the five continents. You will discover a range of different perspectives on the world that will encourage you to think critically about how cultures relate to one another. This cultural sensitivity will equip you for the increasingly multicultural society and workplace of the future. Throughout your studies at UCD, you will be taught by a group of experienced, committed and enthusiastic teachers and researchers, offering  a diverse range of modules designed to foster your linguistic and critical skills. You may, as an International or BA Major student, take up the opportunity to study abroad offered by the ERASMUS exchange programme. Both literally and figuratively, learning a language is an often surprising and rewarding journey.

Bon voyage!
