What is EQUAL-L?
EQUAL-L is a free service that enables any of its registered participants to send e-mail messages to all its other participants, such as:
· information
· questions
· events
· requests for help
Who belongs to EQUAL-L?
The core of EQUAL-L consists of staff, students, graduates and affiliates of Equality Studies programmes at UCD, most of them working in equality-related activities in Ireland and abroad. EQUAL-L also welcomes other people interested in and committed to equality. EQUAL-L currently has over 500 subscribers.
Why should I join EQUAL-L?
EQUAL-L has become one of the fastest and most effective ways of communicating with a wide, diverse community of equality activists. If you want to know what’s happening, when it’s happening, and to let others know about your own activities, EQUAL-L is for you.
How does EQUAL-L work?
EQUAL-L is easy to use. Once you have joined, you can send e-mail to the group by addressing your message to EQUAL-L@listserv.heanet.ie. You will receive other members’ messages automatically.
EQUAL-L also has a fully searchable archive.
How do I join EQUAL-L?
Send an e-mail to listserv@listserv.heanet.ie. Leave the 'Subject' space blank and do not include a signature. As your message, type the following line:
SUBSCRIBE EQUAL‑L yourfirstname yoursecondname
where in place of 'yourfirstname' and 'yoursecondname' you write your own first name and second name. You can also join the list by visiting the EQUAL-L web interface at http://listserv.heanet.ie/equal-l.html. You will receive in return a message which confirms your membership and tells you more about how things work. If you would prefer for me to subscribe you directly, please e-mail John.Baker@ucd.ie
