The School of Social Justice hosted a seminar for groups in the community and voluntary sector on April 3, held at the NWCI office in Parnell Square. At the seminar, Brian Harvey presented the results of research on the Funding Scheme to support national organisations in the voluntary and community sector. The report, published by OPEN and EAPN Ireland, is available on the OPEN website. |

Equality Studies Certificate for Deaf People Saturday 4th February 2012 was a milestone in the history of education for Deaf people. UCD Equality Studies Outreach Programme commenced the first session of an Equality Studies Certificate Course for Deaf people. This unique course has been developed by UCD Equality Studies Centre in partnership with the Irish Deaf Society and 26 deaf students from around the country have enrolled. Lectures will be delivered in Irish Sign Language and delivered by Equality Studies staff and staff of Trinity College Centre for Deaf Studies.The photo of the class group also includes Professor Kathleen Lynch (Head of the UCD School of Social Justice) , Dr Phyllis Murphy(Outreach co-ordinator Equality Studies), Dr Maurice Murphy & Ali Stewart in association with Equality Studies at UCD and Dr John Bosco Conama of Trinity College Centre for Deaf Studies
