RCHS-ISA Interim Conference "Changing Universities: Changing Sociology"
Together with the Research Committee History of Sociology of the International Sociological Association (RCHS-ISA) UCD's Social Science Research Center (SSRC) housed this year's Interim Conference "Changing Universities: Changing Sociology". Delegates from all five continents and as far away as Japan, New Zealand, Argentina and Mexico took part in 17 sessions with 65 presentations. The visitors also attended an Encyclopedia of the Behavioral and Social Sciences roundtable discussion and an author-meets-critics session. The conference saw keynote addresses by Daniel Gordon (University of Massachusetts) and Andrew Abbott (University of Chicago). A dinner at Newman House and a visit to Croke Park rounded off the event.
