Invitation: Norbert Elias Documentary
Elias was then an extremely vigorous 77-year-old, and he talks not only about his early work The Civilizing Process, but about his research on sport, his views on the growth of the sciences, his collection of African art, and the work he was then currently doing that resulted in his Essay on Time.
The film will be shown at 4.00 p.m. on Thursday 9th October in Theatre N, Newman Building.
As Elias tends to attract the interest of people working at the boundaries between many disciplines in the humanities and social sciences everyone is welcome.
