Irish University Undergraduate Awards

The Irish Undergraduate Awards have just launched and we would encourage our students to both register for the awards and to submit their coursework from this year and previous years. The awards provide a wonderful opportunity for our students to be recognised on a national stage for the excellent work that they do each year.

Over the coming weeks the awards will open to all academic fields and students are encouraged to register so that they are aware of submission opening and closing dates for their field. Full details can be found on www.iuawards.ie

The editorial board includes the Presidents or Vice Presidents or Vice Provost of Ireland’s seven universities and Prof.Frances Ruane, Director of the ESRI, Maeve Donovan, Managing Director of the Irish Times, Jim Barry, CEO of NTR and Awards Board Chairperson, and Dr. Martin Curley, Global Director of Research and Innovation for Intel Corp. For a full list see www.iuawards.ie

Education Minister, Batt O'Keeffe T.D., says that "these awards will make a very positive contribution towards fostering creativity and original thinking amongst our students."

The awards provide a wonderful opportunity for our students to be recognised on a national stage for the excellent work that they do each year and the school of sociology would encourage all of our undergraduates to enter as there are many other opportunities available to students who produce interesting and engaging work throughout the year.
