The School strives towards excellence in theory-oriented and empirically-based research. The staff members are active in a variety of different types of research programmes, which range from large scale, interdisciplinary and cross-national comparative projects to singular pieces of in-depth research, conducted by individual members of staff.
The School is committed to the highest standards of research dissemination. Over the years, the Department's research output has flourished and the Department's own Annual Research Report documents research publications including academic books, articles in international, peer-reviewed journals, regular and invited attendance at specialised symposia and international academic conferences, major consultant reports and various applied research activities, as well as other contributions such as newspaper articles and other types of media presentations.
