A Brazilian art form that combines athletic movements from dances and martial arts
Capoeira is a Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, acrobatics, dance and music. With roots in African rituals, it was once considered the first genuine Brazilian sport, and is marked by fluid acrobatic play and extensive use of sweeps, kicks and body movement. Capoeira encompasses art, music, language and movement. It is a mixture of rhythm and agility, suitable for any age and fitness level. It provides strength, flexibility and overall fitness. The club is a great way to meet new people and learn a new language and culture. A qualified instructor facilitates training sessions. Beginners are most welcome throughout the year with gradings usually taking place in October each year.
