Patterson Hockey Pitch
The floodlit sand-filled hockey pitch, finished to a high standard, has full F.I.H. accreditation for international training and matches. The pitch can also be divided into four 7-a-side soccer pitches. The pitch is a replacement for the polygrass Hockey pitch, the site of which becomes part of the new sports development due to begin construction in early 2009.
The pitch which is suitable for a wide range of sports including hockey, soccer and general training purposes.
The pitch can be booked for both seven-a-side soccer games and as a full hockey pitch games by UCD students, staff and clubs. Schools, other colleges, sporting bodies and the general public are also permitted to book the pitch at higher rates.

The National Hockey Stadium
The pitch was built in 1994 for the Women's Hockey World Cup finals and the Men's Hockey European Championship finals. It is reserved for hockey purposes mainly and has covered spectator accommodation for 510 people. The pitch is waterbased i.e. the pitch has to be watered before activity so as to minimise friction.
The stadium can be booked by UCD students, staff and clubs. Schools, other colleges, sporting bodies and the general public are also permitted to book the pitch although higher rates are charged.
