Mark English, Sarah Lavin and Ciara Mageean all triumph at the Irish Life Health National Senior Track & Field Championships

Mark English, Sarah Lavin and Ciara Mageean all triumphed at the Irish Life Health National Senior Track & Field Championships.

The UCD Athletics Club members won 3 Gold Medals at the National Championships in preparation for next months World Championships in London.

Ciara Mageean, Sarah Lavin, and Mark English all gave themselves the best possible preparation for next months Athletics World Championships in London by each winning a Gold medal in their respective disciplines.

European bronze 1,500m medallist Mageean got off to a strong start and held off a late challenge from the fast-finishing competition to win the women’s 800m.

Lavin put a difficult season behind her in emphatic fashion, claiming the National 100m Hurdles title with a time of 13.62.‌

Mark English added another title to his growing collection, winning a gruelling 800m final to wrap up a great weekends performance by all our UCD athletes as they now turn their attention to the small matter of next month’s upcoming World Championships.
