Just as in the All-Ireland final, Dublin managed to finish slightly ahead of Mayo in terms of All Stars in 2017.
Champions Dublin ended up with seven All Stars, Mayo secured six, with beaten semi-finalist Tyrone and Kerry picking up one apiece.
Not only did the blue of Dublin dominate the All Star awards but the blue of UCD dominated with 7 nominees on the night.
From Mayo, Kevin McLaughlin and Dublin’s Brian Fenton, Jack McCaffrey, Con O’Callaghan, Michael Fitzsimons, Paul Mannion fellow Crokes man Cian O’Sullivan were all nominated.
Brian Fenton unfortunately missed out on a midfield spot with Kevin McLaughlin missing out up front.
The winners on the night therefor saw Michael Fitzsimons named at full-back on the team with Cian O’Sullivan ahead of him at centre-back and Jack McCaffrey, who went off injured early in the final win over Mayo, in at left half-back.
That is Michael Fitzsimons first All Star, with Jack McCaffrey earning his second and Cian O’Sullivan claiming his 3rd.
Dublin, UCD and Cuala man, 21-year-old Con O’Callaghan won his first All Star in the wing forward position as well as taking the Young Football of the Year Award.
Finally Paul Mannion shared the full forward line with Kerry and Mayo as he claimed his first All Star.
Paul Mannion also received the most prestigious award of the night as he won ‘Best Dressed’ courtesy of Collar & Cuff!
