UCD students and graduates feature strongly in All Ireland Hurling and Football Championship sides

UCD graduate Brian Hogan captained Kilkenny to All Ireland senior glory in
Croke Park yesterday.  Brian holds both a degree and a masters from UCD
where he won Fitzgibbon Cup and Dublin championship winners medals with the
College side.

Commiserations to UCD hurling scholarship holder  Noel Mc Grath on
Tipperary's defeat. Noel holds All Ireland Championship winning medals at
minor, under 21 and senior level.

  

UCD will be well represented in the All Ireland Under 21 hurling final
between Dublin and Galway next Saturday night in Thurles.

Dublin will be captained by UCD hurling scholar Liam Rushe and
amongst his team mates are UCD students Kevin O'Loughlin, Niall Mc
Morrow, Ciaran Breennan, Daire Plunkett and Bill O'Carroll.

UCD's Jamie Ryan and Domhnall Fox will be on the Galway team for this
egerly awaited contest.

On Sunday September 18th the Dublin senior footballers will play Kerry in
the All Ireland Final. UCD will be represented by current students Rory
O'Carroll, Michael Fitzsimons, Cian O'Sullivan and Craig Diaz. While
graduates Alan Brogan, Barry Cahill and Michael Dara McAuley will also
feature in the side.
