Here in UCD Sport our primary pursuit is based around the principle of participation. We encourage participation at all levels from beginners to elite, and have numerous clubs, programmes and facilities available to achieve this.

As a student, whether you wish to try a new activity, improve your skills or strive for elite level performance, we aim to provide the facilities and expertise, whatever your goals and aspirations.

We offer 57 sports clubs, a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities, fitness centre & gym, the ‘Get in Gear’ programme and numerous health & fitness classes. The UCD Sports Scholarship programme allows talented athletes the opportunity to excel in their chosen field with the expertise of the High Performance Centre.

While at UCD, why not take advantage of:

  • Our location on the Belfield campus – only a couple of minutes walk from the Library.
  • Our quality facilities – from all-weather pitches, squash courts and a climbing wall, just to mention a few.
  • Our great value – we offer student rates and discounted low cost programmes.
  • The many opportunities to improve health & fitness – from a walk on the woodland paths to fitness classes and team sports.
  • Learning new skills – become proficient in yoga, take on the role of a club officer – extend your university experience past that of the academic.
  • Taking part in new activities – have you ever considered rock climbing, archery, diving or Ultimate?
  • Making new friends – university friendships last a lifetime, meet and make new friends with similar interests.

Our website has details on each and every sports club, fitness classes, Get In Gear programme, scholarships and the range of indoor and outdoor facilities available. You may wish to pursue a team-based activity, challenge yourself with a skill such as rock climbing or even just make use of the woodland walk areas for a walk or jog.   The choice is yours.

However, if you can’t find what you are looking for or need more information, please contact us or call into the Sports Centre.

Yours in sport and health,

Brian Mullins
