UCD left The Showgrounds pointless on Monday night after first half goals from Mark Quigley and Pascal Millien and a second half strike from Romauld Boco secured a comfortable win for Ian Baraclough's league leaders on Monday night.

Sligo dominated throughout and but it took until the 38th minute for The Bita Red to take the lead. Man of the Match Mark Quigley calmly slotted into the bottom corner after good play from Millien and Boco. Two minutes later Sligo doubled their lead, Millien this time the scorer.

After UCD lost the ball in midfield, Quigley played a perfect defence splitting pass setting the pacy Millien through, and he finished first time past Mark McGinley to make it 2-0. A nightmare two minutes for UCD.

UCD's only real efforts of the half came from a Dave McMillan shot which went wide and a Mick Leahy header which also failed to trouble Gary Rogers in the Sligo Rovers goal.

The leaders didnt dominate as much in the second half, but UCD again failed to create any real goalscoring chances.

Sligo make it 3-0 with 12 minutes remaining, Ross Gaynor and Mark Quigley combined to set up Boco, who scored the goal of the night smashing past McGinley from outside the box.

UCD would have taken six points from three games at the start of last week, and will be happy with wins against Shels and Cork, they look ahead to Friday night's FAI Cup last 16 game against Derry City at the UCD Bowl.

Martin Russell's team remain one point above bottom side Dundalk with eight games remaining.
