UCD current students and graduates will take the field in the All Ireland Hurling Final which sees Kilkenny take on Galway on Sept 9th.

Scholarship student Andy Smith of Galway will be up against fellow students and college team mates Walter Walsh, Cillian Buckley and Willie Phelan.  Galway overcame Cork in a thrilling semi-final beating them by 0-22 to 0-17. Ad Astra Elite Athletes Cillian Buckley and Willie Phelan joined Walter Walsh and graduate Brian Hogan in what can only be described as a thrashing of Tipperary last Sunday with a final score of 4-24 to 1-15.

On the Tipperary team was also Ad Astra Elite Athlete Noel McGrath who scored two points in the match.

Final is sure to be a cracker with Kilkenny looking to claim their 6th title in 7 years while this is Galways first final since 2005.
