Marianne Rushes World campaign opens in Oregan

The 2009 World Handball Championships gets underway today (Monday) in Portland, Oregon, where over 260 Irish handballers will contest events ranging from Under 11 to Over 80. The official Irish squad comprises eighteen of Ireland's top handballers which include UCD’s Marianne Rushe. 

Marianne has had fantastic previous success including individual gold at the World Collegiate Handball Championships in America in 2009.

Marianne’s competition begins on Thursday with the singles open followed by the doubles open with partner, Pauline Gallagher on Friday.
