Dublin Senior Football Championship St Mary's 1-08 - UCD 0-09

ST MARY'S added UCD to their impressive list of scalps as they booked their place in the semi-finals. Having dismissed 2008 All-Ireland winners St Vincent's in the previous round, the men from Saggart never trailed the Students at Parnell Park.
UCD last won the Dublin SFC crown in 2006. They were also successful in 2002. Last year they lost out to local rivals Kilmacud Crokes also at the quarter final stage and were determined not to repeat this record. Crokes went on to win the Championship, that being their 6th win in their Championship campaign.

UCD had beaten O’Tooles in the previous round with an impressive 1-12 to 0-6 points however that form unfortunately didn’t transcend into last nights game.
St. Mary’s Blaine Kelly featured prominently as a slow-burning first half left the fellow south side club ahead by 0-5 to 0-3. A fortuitous goal early in the second half proved crucial as a long-range Kelly free was fumbled by Stephen Gallagher and Declan Byrne scrambled the ball home.
UCD upped their game and scored five points in eight minutes to level proceedings with 13 minutes remaining. However, David Marshall superbly converted a free-kick from the sideline to restore Mary's lead.
