UCD travelled to University of Limerick to take on the team who have had a seriously impressive home record this season.

UL Eagles made it 13 out of 14 wins in the UL Arena on Saturday night and continued their winning sequence at the expense of an incomplete UCD Marian squad with a final score line of 87-75.

UCD Marian was missing guard, Daniel James due to an ankle injury sustained in the Under 20 National Cup final last weekend.

With James missing, UCD struggled to contain UL Eagles USA stand out shooter, Glen Wong, who drained 18 points from the perimeter in the victory.  It was however the Limerick lads got off to a flying start and had notched up 27 points at the end of the first quarter, leading 27 to 8. The 2nd quarter was shared to leave a 50 to 31 score line at half time in favour of the Eagles.

UCD had solid performances throughout from Conor Meaney, Niall Meaney, Luke McCrone, Neil Baynes, and some of their younger players Finn and Young.

UCD battled hard in the 2nd half and kept themselves in contention and UCD rallied together with an 18 point contribution from Conor Meany in the third quarter. UCD continued the battle in the fourth and with Stu Robbins fouling out, UCD fought to close the gab but the Eagles battled on they maintained their composure and went on to win out by a 12 point margin 87 to 75.

The win puts UL Eagles only one game away from claiming the Southern Conference title while unfortunately UCD sit second from bottom with only 3 out of 12 wins so far this season.
