UCD Archery continued their years success in the GMIT IV missing out on top spot only by a single shot count

After last week’s successful trip to Carlow, UCD Archery built further on its late encouraging development this weekend in the GMIT IV and not only dominated the top rankings in mixed advanced recurve, but also piped UL taking the second place in the team ranking. Level with the UL team with the score of 2500 points, the organisers had to compare the single shots of the teams for the decision. UCD had the better end and is now in the League only 6 points behind runners up team UL. The UCD team topped last week’s score by 123 points gathered by Anne-Marie Donohoe, Shane Keaveney, Ines Rauch, James Ryan and Rachel Schneiders and thereby achieved a score which was as such last seen in season 2007/2008.

As regards to individual rankings, UCD Archery dominated the top rankings in mixed advanced recurve. Back from his competition in Italy, Club Champion James Ryan won once again an Intervarsity competition, his score only 4 points below his own League record. Ines Rauch achieved third place with a personal best score. Although no other top rankings were won, most of the contestants scored personal bests, adding to the excellent team score.

On April 10th, UCD Archery will travel to the IV finals in Limerick and certainly finish this fantastic season with some further worthy results.
