UCD fail to finish season with a win

UCD Rugby played host to local rivals Old Wesley in the last game of this years AIB League.

Despite taking the Colours trophy back to UCD lately, the College boys would not have been happy going into this match in their current league position of 11th.

A team plagued by injury this year, UCD have lost to Malone and Terenure in recent weeks and while they wanted to finish on a high, visitors Old Wesley had more to say about it on Saturday.

Wesley has enjoyed a good season after securing promotion from Division 3 and going into this game in 6th position and they too were set to fight for big win.

The game finished 16-29 in Wesleys favour. However College produced a fine try from Cailbhe Doherty and U20 International, John Cooney clocked up the rest of UCDs points first converting the try and then securing three penalties.
