UCDs Steven Colvert just missed out on the qualifying time for the nearing European Athletics Championships at the recent DIY AAI Senior Track and Field Championships however two personal best times last weekend in Belgium brought him into the squad.

UCD sprinter Steven Colvert, recently set personal bests at 100m (10.62) and 200m (20.90) at the Belgian Championships. Colvert, who took two silver medals at the recent Irish Championships, originally was not named in the squad for the 20th European Athletics Championships to be held in Barcelona between 26 July and 1 August, however these times brought him well inside the Euro qualifying mark of 21.00.
