It was UCD's third consecutive win and their head coach Fran Ryan is delighted his side have breached 90 points for the third time in a row.

UCD Marian’s excellent start to the season continued with a resounding 95-79 success at home to Moycullen.

'We are extremely pleased we have reached that mark for the third game running,' said Ryan. 'The league is at a very high level this season and we are happy with the start we have made.'

Barry Glover is making a huge impact after spending almost three years on the sidelines with an ankle injury and he made another huge contribution on Saturday night with 27 points.

'He had a good game, he is looking fitter and stronger,' added Ryan. 'He showed signs of how good he was before his injury and how good he can be. 'However, it was an overall team display. Michael Higgins came off the bench to make three three's at a crucial time, while the likes of fellow Sports Scholarship students Dan James, Conor James and Cathal Finn also did very well.

'Our first quarter performance was immense but Moycullen showed tremendous courage to fight back and we were worried in that final quarter. We were on top of our game in the first half but they upped their game after the restart but it will be no harm for the players to be on the back on that ahead of the next game.'
