The annual match between University College Dublin and Iona College, NY commenced in early October this year.

The match takes place over 3 days, this time played at Winged Foot, Cherry Valley and Sleepy Hollow, respectively.

UCD started their campaign as they meant to finish with a 2.5-1.5 margin of victory on the first day, with victories for the pair of John Greene/Gerry Kelly and Jamie Rothwell/Stephen Walsh, as well as a half for Richard Maher/Michael Magee. The pair of Colum Kenny/Daniel Holland suffered a narrow defeat on the 18^th green.

Day 2 brought the sunshine and with it another day of toing-and-froing between the teams, with victories again for Greene/Kelly and Kenny/Holland registered their first points of the match. The day finished in a tie with the overall standings going into the singles 4.5-3.5.

The final day saw both teams take to the picturesque Sleepy Hollow golf course, overlooking the Hudson Bay. The golf didn’t disappoint either from both sides, with Colum Kenny and Stephen Walsh both recording early victories. Another victory came soon after with Richie Maher winning on 17, followed by halves from Daniel Holland to ensure a halved match and directly after came the final point from captain Gerry Kelly with a winning putt on the 18^th green to leave the overall score at 9-7 in favour of UCD.
