Glenanne picked off a comfortable win Belfield to move back to the top of the Leinster division one table.
UCD 0 Glenanne 7 (Shane O’Donoghue 3, Gary Shaw 2, Stephen Brownlow 2)
Shane O’Donoghue scored a hat-trick against the side coached by his father Rory as the Tallaght side swept into a 4-0 half-time lead against a young UCD side who had difficulties entering the circle the during the half.
In the second half though they experienced a period of dominance for the first 20 minutes but for the first time in the season, despite 4 corners, they were unable to convert their corners and chances when agonisingly wide for both Ben Dobson and Shane Nolan amongst others. But three more goals in the last 15 minutes gave Glennanne the win O’Donoghue went high twice and once low with drag-flicks while Gary Shaw got on the end of two really solid passing moves, finishing off at the back post both times. Stephen Brownlow added a double, too, for a comfortably crafted victory.
UCD next play Weston next Saturday, the 20th of November, for a chance to go up a place in the Leinster League before playing Navan in the Leinster Cup the following day, on Sunday the 21st.
