On the 14th of November 2010 the top Irish Colleges assembled for the Intervarsity Road Relay Championships.
DCU were current champions for 2009/2010 and were looking to defend both their mens and women team titles. The women compete in a four leg relay over 1-2-2-1 miles, while the men compete in a five leg relay over 1-2-3-2-1 miles. Each college can enter multiple teams. The race was held in the old part of the campus and the course is on tree lined avenues surrounded by old buildings
There were great performances by the UCD men's team at the relays finishing second out of 21 teams even. The team unfortunately competed without club member Joe Sweeney. Ciara Everard was on a weak women's team but used the opportunity to show how she has come on in the last few months by storming the first leg in the quickest mile leg of the day a 5.02 mile.

Results: Womens race: 1st Ciara Everard (UCD A) 5.02.00, 14th Amy Cooke (UCD B) 6.07.00
Mens team results: 2nd (1st leg) Richard Owns 4.28, 2nd (2nd leg) Robert Corbally 9.33, 2nd (3rd leg) Alan McCormack 14.15, 2nd (4th leg) Conor Healy 9.38, 2nd (5th leg) Paul Gleeson 4.41.
