UCD Mountaineering club compete regularly in the Irish Bouldering League (IBL), a competition which is held over five rounds in venues across the country with all the top national climbers competing.

Last year, Shane Smith, one of the clubs exceptional climbers, placed fourth overall at the end of the League.

The high standards of the UCDMC team looked set to continue this year during the first round of the 2010/11 IBL which was held in Tollymore, Co. Down on October 23rd.

UCDs Jonathan Redmond, came joint first in the Male Category, a feat never before achieved by a UCDMC member, while Eva Veres and Maeve Lynsky placed in the top ten of the Female Category. 

The second round was held in DCU on November 20^th seeing Shane Smith placed in the top ten in the Male Category and Eva Veres came in the top ten on the Female category.

The next rounds of the competition resume after Christmas and hopefully, the UCDMC success will continue.
