UCC's quest for a first Sigerson Cup title since 1995 was kept alive today as the Cork outfit took the scalp of a major Dublin side for the second time in the space of 24 hours.

Having beaten last year's champions DCU yesterday afternoon, Billy Morgan's charges ended the hopes of tournament hosts UCD with a hard-earned 0-13 to 0-11 semi-final win.
UCC led by 0-8 to 0-5 at half-time with Cork's Barry O'Driscoll and Daithi Casey of Kerry to the fore. UCD hit back through Westmeath's John Heslin, Ciaran Lyng of Wexford and Rob Kelly of Kildare.

The sides were tied at 0-11 late on, but injury-time points from Casey and Mark Collins ensured a deserved victory for UCC.

UCD's woes were compounded late on with a red card for Donegal's Marc McGeown in the fourth minute of injury-time.

UCC will face UUJ in tomorrow's final at Belfield (throw-in 2.15pm) after the Jordanstown outfit posted a 0-12 to 0-10 semi-final win over NUI Maynooth.

An injury-time point from Matthew Donnelly proved vital for UUJ in a game which ebbed and flowed throughout.

Scores from David Quinn and Padraig O Conghaile helped Maynooth take a 0-5 to 0-2 lead after 14 minutes.

However, UUJ scored six unanswered points before the break, with Monaghan's Connor McManus and Caolan O'Boyle of Derry in fine form. They led by 0-8 to 0-5 at half-time.

A third point from Donnelly edged UUJ four points clear, but Maynooth battled back. Good work from Paul Cahillane and Craig Berrigan helped cut the deficit to a point with two minutes remaining.

Yet UUJ tightened up their defence late on and Donnelly's final point sent the northern side through.

Elsewhere, St. Patrick's, Drumcondra and Waterford IT progressed through to the Trench Cup final.

St. Pat's were 2-18 to 0-7 winners over John Moore's University, Liverpool, while WIT beat reigning champions IT Tralee on a 1-9 to 0-9 scoreline.

Mater Dei and IT Blanchardstown will contest the Corn na Mac Leinn final, while Cavan Institute were crowned Further Education champions following their 2-8 to 0-12 triumph over North West Regional College in the final
