The 2011 Air Rifle Intervarsities and Colours were held on Saturday, 5th of March 2011, in Wilkinstown Target Shooting Club, Wilkinstown, Co. Meath and saw UCD Rifle Club take home the full set of titles for a second year running.

The intervarsities are made up of three competitions, the Junior competition, Senior competition and the overall Intervarsities title. The overall title is decided by the combination of the scores from the novice and senior squads.

Both the novice and senior squads performed outstandingly on the day, which is the one of the biggest competitions in the clubs calander. The novice squad, consisting of shooters who hadn’t previously shot in the intervarsities, remained completely focused under the huge pressure of the competition and their year of training and hard work paid off with a novice squad win of 130 points. They did this with an average score of 524.67, which smashed the previous UCD Novice squad record for the competion.

The senior competition was extremely close, with UCD taking it by a slim 5 points lead.

For the overall competition the combined novice and senior scores took UCD to commanding 135 win after a long 10 hours of competition.
