UCD Rifle Club held the UCD Summer Air Open 2011 in the UCD Rifle Club Range on Sunday 12th of June.

UCD did very well in a high scoring, very tight competition with Cillian O'Sullivan taking 3^rd in the overall 60 shot championship and 1^st in Class B, and Nicolas Nalpas taking 2^nd in Class C.

Cillian produced a personal best to win third place and every single point was required. Only three points separated third to fifth place in the 60 shot championship, with Cillian just pipping Terry Wearen and Sean Baldwin, both from the Defense Forces Shooting Team.

Ray Kane Ray Kane of the Defense Forces Shooting Team claimed the overall 60 shot championship with an impressing 581 ex 600, with Aisling Miller  of Dublin University Rifle Club winning the 40 Shot championship and John Kinsella of Castlebridge Invitational Pistol Club winning the pistol competition.

Ray’s next stop is the ISSF Munich World Cup where coveted London 2012 Olympic quota places are available.
